Send documents and attachments from Desktop App or browser

With Qwil, it is easy to share files and documents up to 50 MB each with a colleague, your company representative or a client. Sharing files in Qwil is very similar to how you've been used to with email: create a new email (start a chat), add a subject (Chat title), add participants and upload/drag and drop a document. You can of course, add documents in existing chat threads. 

 

What to expect?

  • Staff and Clients can send and receive files, images and videos on Qwil of up to 50 MB which are synchronised across devices. Your organisation may limit the type of files. Manage attachment sharing restrictions
  • Clients are by default allowed to upload pictures and documents on mobile as well as from the Desktop app / Browser.
  • Staff may be restricted to only taking pictures of the mobile app and sharing attachments on the desktop app / browser. This is to ensure the privacy and security of the information. This setting can be customised according to your company policies: How to make BYOD work for your company

 

How to send attachments from a desktop app or browser?

Once a new chat thread has been started (see Start a new a chat thread) there are 2 ways to send attachments from the web app from the Attachment icon or with Drag and Drop.

You can also choose to send images compressed (in a quick way) or without compression.

From the attachment icon:

  1. Click on the clip icon Screenshot_2022-03-29_at_16.54.03.png
  2. Select one or more files to send.
  3. On the top of the modal, you can switch between tabs to Send as picture to send images with compression or Send as file to send images without compression.

  4. You can add a caption (optional).
  5. Click Send.

Note: With the preview modal open you can add more files by dragging them onto the modal.

Drag and drop:

  1. Select one or more files you wish to send from your computer.
  2. Drag and drop in the chat window.
  3. Drop in Send as pictures to send images with compression, or Send as attatchments to send images as files.

  4. You can add a caption (optional).
  5. Click Send.

Note: You are able to view a preview of a PDF file directly within Qwil before downloading.

 

Tip: All attachments sent within a chat will be listed in the chat images in the right chat panel. You can choose to see a chat's images as a list or as a grid.
