Who can use this feature?
Staff users only
Meet, discuss, and share ideas with audio and video calls. With Qwil Meet you can talk to your clients and colleagues directly from the security of Qwil Messenger. You will be able to manage, track and elevate your virtual meetings, conferences, and discussions keeping conversations all in one place.
What to expect
- Meetings are created inside a chat by Staff members. All chat participants will be able to join.
- Clients cannot start meetings but can join them.
- Meeting creators can also allow guests to join. A guest is a user that does not have a Qwil account.
- You can create audio or video calls.
- By default only the meeting creator can host a meeting. You can allow other staff users to host a meeting when you create a meeting.
- Up to 15 participants can join a meeting.
- When you join a meeting a new tab will open. In some browsers, you may need to enable pop-up windows. See below. For a list of supported browsers click here.
- You can start a meeting immediately or schedule one for later.
- If you use Meet now, a meeting link expire after 6 hours. Scheduled meetings expire after a year and can be reused multiple times.
- Meetings can be joined on desktop, browsers, and mobile but always starting from Qwil Messenger.
- A calendar invite can be sent including the reference to Qwil Meet meeting to take participants straight to the chat thread.

- Please note that screen sharing is not supported on mobile browsers (including tablets).
To start a meeting (Meet now):
On web:
- Open a chat where you wish to start a meeting.
- Click on Start a meeting on the chat header.
- A modal will open. You can start a meeting immediately or schedule one for later. To start a meeting select a meeting mode (audio/video) and click Start meeting. You can allow other staff users to host the meeting and you can allow external guest to join using a link. By default only the meeting creator will be able to host the meeting.
- A new message with a button Join now will appear in the chat for everyone to join.
- A new tab will open (you may need to enable pop-ups, see below).
- When prompted, allow Qwil to use your microphone and camera.
Note: If the meeting does not automatically open in a new tab your browser may ask you to enable pop-up windows. Click on Preferences and select Allow pop-ups.
On mobile:
- Open a chat where you wish to start a meeting.
- Tap on the video icon on the chat header.
- Select to start an audio or video meeting.
- You will be navigated to your mobile browser. When prompted allow Qwil to use your microphone and camera.
- On the landing page, you can test your microphone and video. Tap Join meeting.
To schedule a meeting:
A scheduled meeting will be valid for a year, and it can be reused until it expires. It can be helpful for other participants if you add a time and date in the meeting details. Currently, scheduled meetings can only be created on desktop and web.
On web:
- Open a chat where you wish to start a meeting.
- Click on Start a meeting on the chat header.
- A modal will open. Select the Schedule for later tab.
- Add meeting details (optional) such as meeting topic, date and time, select a meeting mode (audio/video), and click Schedule.
- A new message with the meeting's details, validity and a button Join now will appear in the chat for everyone to join.
- The meeting can be joined at any time and can be reused until it expires (1 year).
- When you schedule a meeting you will also receive a butler message to inform you your meeting was successfully created. This message includes a button to copy a link to the message with the meeting details. You can paste this link into your calendar or share it via email with other participants of the chat.
