Qwil Meet does not have cloud recording capabilities currently.
Qwil Messenger replicates physical meetings with staff organising the meeting and inviting the right participants. Notes are likely to be taken in these meetings rather than recording the audio, let alone the video. Clients are also likely to be more open without a camera recording the session. This is why for the time being Qwil Meet doesn't have recording functionality.
However, there are also technical reasons and especially knowing what, how and when recordings may be required - where user feedback will be important.
- Are you willing to be charged additional cost for each user to record and store huge amount of data? Even zoom limits to 5GB. Should the recording be on your computer instead?
- Is it a regulatory requirement to record every Qwil Meet (i.e automatic)? or just some calls?
- What do you need to record? Audio or video too?
We will be building recording functionality in the second half of 2022 based on the feedback.
How can I record locally?
Qwil Meet runs on browser (we recommend Chrome) and there are plugins which enable you to record your window. You can download a free application called Screen Record:
Download links for your browser:
This will install a plugin on Chrome or Edge and with a simple click ahead or during a call, you will be able to record your video conference session including screen sharing and save it on your computer. It is very easy to use.
When you start your meeting simply launch the screen recorder extension, choose what you want to capture and click "Start Recording". You can then choose what to record, click on tab and then "Qwil Meet".
